HeadingTropical Island in the heart of Rondebosch.
DescriptionAn idyllic setting where the only sound you will hear is birdsong. This versatile home lends itself to so much more than just a place to live. It's a place to work from; a place to relax - a place to play. Potential guest house, wellness centre - and walking distance to schools.

The Rondebosch golf course is essentially a return to the original concept of golf, being very much a parkland-type of golf course from which the game evolved. Some tight driving holes, compounded by undulating fairways and the ever-present threat of strong winds provide some interesting play.

University of Cape Town

The University of Cape Town (UCT) is South Africa's oldest university. UCT has more than 60 specialist research units that provide supervision for postgraduate work and is home to more than a quarter of South Africa's A-rated researchers - academics who are considered world leaders in their fields.

VicinityThe leafy suburb of Rondebosch is perhaps most sought after for its incredible views of Table Mountain, but also because of its architectural beauty and easy access to the city of Cape Town. Rondebosch was where the very first permanent title of land in Africa was issued by Van Riebeeck. He named the area after a clump of thorn trees - ‘Het Ronde Doornbosjen’ - which over time, evolved into Rondebosch (round tree).

What remains of this original settlement is today central to Rondebosch - a large greenbelt, known as the Rondebosch Common (photograph) and a National Monument - loved by the community and home to a number of unique indigenous plant species. Rondebosch has some beautiful examples of Victorian homes and first-rate renditions of Sir Herbert Baker architecture.
